Adventure Around Issyk-Kul Lake | 6-Day

We’ll welcome you at the airport and transfer you comfortably to a cozy guesthouse — a perfect moment to relax and get ready for your adventure. On the same day, we begin our first walk through Ala-Too Square, the bustling heart of Kyrgyzstan’s capital.
During this city tour, you’ll explore Bishkek’s cultural and social center: the vast square, the State Historical Museum, and get a glimpse of the city’s modern life and major events that bring thousands of people together. Stroll along the shady paths of Oak Park, admire open-air sculptures, and experience a unique blend of contemporary urban life and history near the historic St. Nicholas Church. This light but enriching walk is the perfect introduction to Kyrgyzstan through its vibrant capital.

After breakfast, we pick you up from the guesthouse and head along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul to the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, where traditional yurts are crafted. Visit the local yurt-making workshops, feel the spirit of nomadic culture, and learn why the annual “Kiyiz Duyun” festival draws visitors from all over. Along the way, we’ll stop at the therapeutic Salt Lake, often compared to the Dead Sea.
Next, we drive to Tokmok to visit the legendary Burana Tower (9th–11th centuries). This ancient minaret features intricate brickwork, unique patterns, and a stone garden with balbals and petroglyphs — a true open-air museum.
After exploring, enjoy a traditional snack, Apamdyn Kattamasy: tea with milk and a warm, fried layered flatbread.
The day continues with a hike through Konorchek (Suluu-Terek) Canyon, a labyrinth of clay cliffs offering breathtaking views of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too mountains. After a hearty lunch, we continue with stops at Kubaky Pass (3,000 m) and the Ortotokoy Reservoir. In the evening, return to Kyzyl-Tuu, settle into the guesthouse, and relax after a day full of adventure.

After breakfast, we depart for Karakol. On the way, visit local eagle hunters, custodians of an ancient nomadic tradition. Watch a thrilling demonstration of the eagles’ skills and learn the secrets of training (hunting demo available for an additional fee).
Next, stop at the shores of Issyk-Kul and explore the Fairy Tale Canyon, where red clay cliffs form whimsical castles, mazes, and walls like movie sets.
Continue to Barskoon Gorge, famous for cascading waterfalls: Leopard’s Tears, Beard of the Elder, Champagne Sprays, and Manas’ Cup. Then visit the legendary Jeti-Oguz Gorge (“Seven Bulls”) with its iconic red rocks and the Broken Heart, a spot beloved by couples making wishes.
Arrive in Karakol for overnight stay. This charming town at the eastern end of Issyk-Kul offers optional visits to the Holy Trinity Wooden Cathedral, the Dungan Mosque with its pagoda-like architecture, the Przhevalsky Museum, and the Karakol History Museum.

After breakfast, we head to the scenic Altyn-Arashan Gorge at the foot of the Terskey Ala-Too mountains. At the base, transfer to an authentic off-road vehicle for an unforgettable 1.5-hour mountain journey along winding roads and river crossings, surrounded by breathtaking panoramas.
Altyn-Arashan is famous for its year-round warm radon and sulfur springs, ancient Tian Shan fir forests, and dramatic peaks, including the Aksu Wall (Tent Peak). Enjoy a short trekking route and find the best photo spots.
Return to Karakol in the evening, with the option to relax in a hot spring (extra cost). Overnight at a cozy guesthouse.

Start the morning in Karakol with a hearty breakfast. The first stop is the N.M. Przhevalsky and K. Karasaev Museum-Memorial in Pristan-Przhevalsk (12 km from Karakol), housing over 2,000 artifacts including personal items, rare documents, and photographs of the explorer.
Travel toward Cholpon-Ata, exploring the stunning Issyk-Kul gorge landscapes. Stop at Semenov Gorge, a wide valley of about 30 km with the glacier-fed Ak-Suu River and slopes rising under the shade of Tian Shan firs and aromatic mountain herbs. Next, visit Ananyevo Gorge (Kyrchyn), known for hosting the World Nomad Games.
Then, Grigoriev Gorge offers pristine nature with dense spruce forests and a rushing river. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a yurt village by the water, featuring beshbarmak, manti, plov, fresh trout, and other national dishes. Along the way, take scenic photo stops.
Evening arrival in Cholpon-Ata. Check into a guesthouse to relax and recharge for the next day’s adventures.

After breakfast, visit Rukh-Ordo, a unique open-air cultural center on the shores of Issyk-Kul, known as the Garden of All Religions. Here, different spiritual traditions coexist harmoniously, offering every visitor a welcoming atmosphere.
During a 1.5-hour guided tour, learn interactively about Kyrgyzstan’s history, culture, and traditions. Try singing, dancing, and fully immerse yourself in the experience.
The complex includes 10 museums and locations, including the Chingiz Aitmatov House Museum, art and culture halls, photo and painting galleries, the Treasure of Knowledge, Sayakbai Karalaev’s pavilion, and five chapels.
In the evening, return to Bishkek and settle into a guesthouse. This marks the end of your vibrant six-day journey through Kyrgyzstan.
